Obituary

Mrs. Virginia "Vinnie" (Testaverde) Lepera, 74 of Gloucester passed away suddenly, surrounded by family on the evening of Friday, April 6th 2018. She was the wife of the late Joseph J. Lepera formerly of Cambridge, MA.

Vinnie was born on September 10, 1943 in Gloucester. She is the daughter of the late Peter J. and Jennie (Susanno) Testaverde. Vinnie grew up in Gloucester and graduated from Gloucester High School Class of 1961.

Vinnie was an amazing cook and was truly happiest making a big dinner of pasta and meatballs or her legendary eggplant parmigiana and sharing it with her family then settling in to watch old movies or singing along to Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra. She recently toured Italy with her sisters and cousins and described it as a trip of a lifetime!

Vinnie lived in Cambridge, MA, Florida and Wisconsin, but Gloucester was always her home and was thrilled to move back here this past fall.

Vinnie is survived by her three daughters, Jenine Lepera-Izzi of New York City, NY, Lisa Coots of Miami, FL and Tina Weitz of Cameron Park, CA. Her four brothers, Peter Testaverde of Gloucester, James Testaverde of Gloucester, Lawrence Testaverde of Daytona Beach, FL and Steven Testaverde of Gloucester, her two sisters Rosemarie Verg of Eagle, WI and Theresa Waldoch of Milwaukee, WI. She is also survived by her five cherished grandchildren, Alexa, Christian, Alyssa, Danielle and Noa as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Joseph and her mother and father, Vinnie is predeceased by her sister Linda Testaverde of Maine.

Vinnie's Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish in St. Ann's Church, Prospect Street Gloucester on Friday, April 13th 2018 at 9:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. In honoring with Vinnies wishes there will be no visiting hours and burial will be held privately.
