Mary Louise Silva, 91, born in Gloucester, MA, passed away peacefully at Seacoast Nursing Home after a brief illness. She was pre-deceased by her husband John E. "Jack" Silva and her father Temple A. Bradley and Mother Alice G. (Hallett) Bradley. Mary is survived by a special needs daughter Deborah Silva of Methuen, MA. They had a special bond and Mary dedicated her life to Deborah and was such a great advocate for her.

Mary "Lou" sadly leaves her close friend Elsie Landergren, best of friends since the age of 13. Also 3 sisters-in law, Pearl Dorey of Beverly, MA, Madeline "Midge" Silva of Gloucester, MA and Patricia A. Bradley of Fairfax, VA. Also many nieces, nephews and cousins that she loved and enjoyed spending time with. She is also survived by a step-daughter Pamela D. Plummer & her husband Roger L. Plummer of Kennebunk, ME. A step-grandson Michael R. Plummer of Seattle, WA as well as many step great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Mary graduated from Bethel Academy, Bethel, ME. She worked for many years as a special needs aid for the Gloucester public schools. After retiring she volunteered in the Emergency room department of Addison Gilbert Hospital and the Grace Center, Gloucester.

Mary was a long standing member of the Trinity Congregational Church, acquiring many close friends. She loved Line dancing for many years with "Miss Tina's Seniorettes", she loved to socialize, enjoyed music and attending local concerts. Mary also loved the ocean and spent much time at the beach. One of her many joys was meeting monthly with the "Behind the 8 Ball Club", formed during WW II and continued through the years with her dear friends.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a graveside service at Oak Grove Cemetery, 177 Washington St, Gloucester, MA, Monday July 17, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Following the service a celebration of Mary's life will be held at the Gloucester House, 63 Rogers St., Gloucester. In honoring with Mary's wishes will be no visiting hours.
